The „Telekom Scholarships” program supports ten students in Sciences, thus encouraging the development of the communications and information technology sector

Telekom Romania announces the winners of the ten scholarships awarded within the eighth edition of the „Telekom Scholarships” program. Thus, ten students will receive financial support through the "Telekom Scholarships" program and will benefit each from a scholarship worth 15,000 lei in total for the whole 2017-2018 academic year.

The 2017-2018 edition of the Telekom Scholarships program addressed students in the first grade in the field of Sciences, connected with the field of information and communication technology - automation and computers, informatics, cybernetics, mathematics, electrical engineering, electronics, telecommunication and information technology. The eighth edition of the program is consistent with Telekom Romania’s mission to support the development of information technology and the Internet of Things.

The ten students, winners of a scholarship through this year's edition, following the selection and judging process, are:

  1. Ioan Rareş Borcea – Faculty of Automation and Computers, Polytechnics University of Bucharest;
  2. Dan Butmalai – Faculty of Automation and Computers, Polytechnics University of Bucharest;
  3. Andrei Alexandru Chiriac – Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Bucharest;
  4. Marian-Codrin Crețu – Faculty of Informatics, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi;
  5. Iulia Cristina Ionescu – Faculty of Automatic and Computer Science, Automatic Systems and Systems Engineering, Polytechnics University of Bucharest;
  6. Moise Valeriu Constantin – Faculty of Informatics, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi;
  7. Ionuț Andrei Silviu Pinte – Faculty of Engineering, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, North University Center Baia Mare;
  8. Carmen-Gabriela Popa – Faculty of Automation and Computers, Polytechnics University of Bucharest;
  9. Răzvan Roatiș – Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, Babeş-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca;
  10. Alexandra-Georgina Țurțulea – Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.

 

“The Telekom Scholarship program orientation to support students in Sciences supports future professionals and innovators in the field of information and communication technology. We are glad that we can consolidate the tradition of excellence in IT&C, a field that sustainably contributes to the development of all industries in Romania. We thank the members of the jury for their support offered within this edition of the program, continuing a tradition of volunteering and involvement in the education of the young generation", said Florina Şerban, Corporate Responsibility Senior Coordinator, Telekom Romania.

The jury that nominated the ten winners of this year's edition was formed by:

1.         Cristina Bazavan – journalist and blogger with a media experience of over 17 years;

2.         Mihaela Perianu – Founder and Managing Partner at Aims Human Capital, 23-year active company in Executive Search and Consultancy and Founder and Managing Partner at Dale Carnegie Training;

3.         Sorin Psatta – Integrated Communication Director at Graffiti BBDO Romania and Lecturer at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences of the University of Bucharest;

4.         Mihai Popa-Radu – Managing Partner at „Seeds for Success”, one of the most reputed companies in the area of Executive Coaching and Leadership Skills Development in Romania;

5.         Emil Cazacu - Univ. Prof. Associate Professor at the Polytechnics University of Bucharest;

6.         Ion Văduva - PhD, Prof., former professor of Informatics and Information Technology, University of Bucharest;

7.         Mihai Comșa - Recruitment, Assessment and Employer Branding Supervisor at Telekom Romania Human Resources Division.

The ”Telekom Scholarships” program was launched in 2010 and since then it has supported students with outstanding performance in their field of study. Until 2017, the company financially supported more than 105 students, enrolled in prestigious Universities in Romania.
